Introduction about of the play

                  Harold Pinter was a born 10 Oct 1930 in Hackney. He was actor, screen writer, poet or drama critic. Harold was most influential modern dramatist or his writing career 50 years. His famous plays are “The Birthday Party” [1957], “The Homecoming” [1934]. His second full-lengthy play, “The birthday party” was first perform by university‘s drama. Harold writing style is the Absurd Theater in the English ethos. Harold was used by term “Comedy of menace” and comedy is most important part of the play. The birthday party has been described as Irving Warble as a critic. This play different theme, symbol, character, Absurd all discuss of the Harold view. 

     

                  The Birthday Party Pinter’s first full-length play, [1958] This played to exactly six main characters. Harold plays critics, confusing, obscure, and unconvincing. There is most important play of the mid-twentieth century. The play “The birthday party” was divided Three Act.

                      Acts are rural and individual and sophisticated.  In the nature of reality is very confusing of the way. The play is Outdoor or texture of the play. The birthday party shows the Stanley all the connection of past or present life because play are disjointed because and they effort to reality or illusion.

What is Absurd?

    

                  “Theater of Absurd” is a term movement started in late 1950s. Abused are no beginning, no middle and not perfected end. There are related with the play on theme of Absurd. It very common words of the Pinter play but they can have use of different style or Absurd. The term applied to the different characteristic of the play.    

 

   Mainly it is found in the characters of Meg, Stanley and Lulu is unique character of the play. All character is very disappointed and complains in your life.

Goldberg and McCann

                   Two unknown characters are Goldberg and McCann. Both are “agents” and they have organist or unfamiliar presented to the party.  Goldberg and McCann are using the theme of ‘menace’ in the play. Stanley’ mysterious past and they journey are unsuccessfully or not good.  Goldberg and McCann was ask Stanley that time frost for the ridiculous, and Stanley was agree and destroy in a mind.

 What is Comedy of Menace?

 

   

      “Comedy of Menace” means another called in the Play. Comedy of menace is a term used to David Compton, Nigel Dennis or Harold Pinter. It may develop from a feeling of uncertainty and insecurity. This feeling of menace establishes a strong connection between character’s predicament and audience’s personal anxieties. ”The Birthday party” as the comedy of menace and it is a tragedy or comic element.

 Pinter’s said

               It’s no plan, no process but upper less to   trivia of main subject. The menace feeling connecting between characters or audience expiates. The word menace is other negativity sense and violence of the play. Frightening effect we find very much as it is “Comedy of Menace”  “Pinter play that a comic menace which gave rise to this article”.  The “Comedy of menace” is argument between “BEN” OR “GUS’’.

Gus: You mean the gas.

BEN: Who does?

GUS: You do.

BEN: What do you mean, I mean the gas?

GUS: Well, that’s what you mean, don’t you? The gas.

BEN: If I say go and light the kettle mean go and light the kettle?

GUS: How can you light a kettle?

BEN: It’s figure of speech! Light the kettle.” 

The atmosphere mean 

      Harold Pinter is created by “The atmosphere” mean high quality level, or serious comedy. He was creation are very different or linguistic of the way. Illusion - petey’s are silent movement, interrogative happy birthday’s play.

                             There are most important of the vehicle comedy in the play, they have fear in the play. In almost every character are suffering from the fear of unknown. In the story about past or present life but they avoid to see in mirror because they play of fear. 

The room or house

                The room or house represent to the Harold Pinter. Party is tragic incident of the play. He was representing camera, security, outdoor to sustain to the play. There life is different rule, normal life and pleasant.
    

Character

                   Harold is representing to the convictional character or setting. Play end is different, meaningless or intellectual man. Situation are unconventional or shocking and violence. Ex- Homecoming. Audience have except of a reality and character are impact.    

        

Language

                Pinter’s also use dialogues, lexical item, structure, setting is a very simple or play is easily to understand. Language is connecting the communication. They can have dialogue are objective and consequence in the birthday party.  Past time has Harold use of a technique of verification.

 Non-verbal Device

                  Non-verbal device are silence, Pauses, noises.  Pinter’s uses of several think but early have distinction of non-verbal. Pause and silence use by   

•     To give a character time to think before saying.

•     To avoid conversation.

Symbol
    

                   The birthday play start to car going on and they are most important of Black car as a negative symbol. Car is first symbol of the play. It’s all part are private, idealist, either real a past time but character readily escape.  His most important symbol is outset, social conformity, The room and house, The Birthday party, dirty kitchen etc. Many symbol like are Mirror, Door Knocking, News paper are dramatic irony. The paper is fulfill communication roll in the play.

                Thus, Pinter’s play is tragic or comic and the birthday party is comedy menace of the play.  Harold Pinter’s play is an unbounded by many facts. They character, fear of the play, contain meaning and absurdity in the play.
